DJ Mixes

DeepLink
While working as a DJ in local clubs and venues, it’s only natural that I’ve gathered many great deep, soulful, jazzy house tracks. I began exploring good dance music in my teenage years in the late ’90s, and I’m still going strong. Over the years, I’ve been asked to mix some of the best house tracks for my friends and fans, so I decided it would be cool to share them online with the broadest possible audience. I’ve got plenty of DeepLink DJ Mixes on this website, feel free to listen, and if you really like them, download and share them with other house music lovers. Enjoy.
Deep Retro Grooves
Here is a collection of music I’ve cherished for a long time. Even now, I can still listen to it as if it were new. It features some of the oldest and finest house and deep house productions that feel timeless to me. Call it classics, retro, roots, yet it’s so much more than that. This music represents some of the best years of my life; it was my mainstream house for a long time, and it still is. For many listeners, though, it may feel underground.
Mix The Groove
This section of the site is dedicated to my online radio show, the DJ residency I hosted in 2007–2008 on UK internet radio MixTheGroove. Although the station eventually shut down, I preserved the shows as downloadable MP3s. Each episode is a pure DJ mix, it was music only with no talk. Every week, I carefully selected and blended some of the best and more niche deep, soulful, jazzy, and tech-house tracks. I hope you enjoy them.
Live DJ sets
On this page you’ll find my DJ sets, recorded live at some of my favorite clubs and venues. I was a resident DJ for many years, spinning four nights a week at the legendary Club Contrast, and I also held a resident night at Paradiso discotheque in Novi Sad. Lounge Café was the last venue where I performed weekly before moving to New York City. Each set offers a distinct vibe, and I encourage you to listen and download. The music is 99% house, with strong influences from Jazz, Nu-Jazz, Soul, Funk, and Afro-Latin rhythms and other elements.
Radio Shows
I’ve spent more than ten years as a DJ on numerous local radio stations in my city, and I’ve always enjoyed mixing new electronic music and curating engaging radio programs. Radio is wonderful because you know someone’s listening, even if you don’t know who they are or how many are tuned in. However, I didn’t record many of my DJ sets, though I did capture a few of my latest sessions from my favorite radio station ever, IN RADIO Novi Sad (1998–2009, R.I.P.). My main goal was to promote new and classic deep, soulful, funky, jazzy, Latin, and tech-house music while having fun in the process. These radio shows were recorded exclusively without my talk, just good old house music. Thanks for listening.
Long DJ Mixes
Years ago, while browsing my precious music collection, I began to imagine mixing my favorite tracks into an epic, long DJ set. I wanted a flow that could traverse different styles and folders from my computer (1973–2003), not for technical perfection, but to create something immersive I could listen to while pursuing other creative pursuits. It took me a lot of time to prepare and blend these long mixes, but the payoff was worth it. I cared less about technical details and more about music selection. After months of preparation, I finally launched this huge project, and now we have four ultra-long DJ mixes that showcase some of the best talents in electronic and contemporary music.
Guest Mixes
As you can tell, I’ve spent a lot of time mixing and recording my DJ sets. I didn’t have much time to record and mix for other internet sites or organize things, so I ended up with only two recorded DJ mixes to share. I know that isn’t a lot, but I’m excited to put them out there anyway. I hope you’ll enjoy these two deep, jazzy, soulful mixes I produced for the DeepGroove Show & DeepGroove Show.
Radio shows shine best when the crew’s together. We’d spin good house music, drop some jingles, and listeners could throw a tiny funky party with friends at home. This DJ mix is for you and me, it's for all of us. It’s more down-tempo and relaxed than peak-time house, but it ends with a little “hot paprika” to spice things up. Check out these respected artists: Sumo, Rigas, Nadirah Shakoor, Atelewo, Osunlade, Kolai Krew, Fish Go Deep, Gabi Newman, Jersey Street, Geoffrey Williams, Patrick Turner, Audiowhores.
I love the groove of a solid house rhythm, especially with Latin and Brazilian influences. That’s why I created a DJ mix called “Latin Nights,” inspired by those special gigs when I’d spin Latin house all night and the crowd would go wild. It’s a mellow, romantic, and sexy journey through Latin house that’s suitable for every dancing soul. Enjoy some of the best house music producers and singers such as: The Bayara Citizens, Louie Vega feat Anané, Bah Samba feat Isabel Fructuoso, Glen Lewis feat Mjojo And Bongani, DJ Ino feat Yoio C, Hardsoul, Chuck Love, Anane feat Mr. V, Mena Keys feat Tabia na Moto, The Rhythm Slaves, Davidson Ospina, Jazztronik, Roy Ayers
When it’s cold outside, I love listening to deep, techy house fused with organic live sounds on my radio show, mostly instrumental, with less vocals. I’d sip a rich cup of black tea while mixing this techy stuff, and rainy nights set the mood. But it’s not all about tech: the mood lightens with Latin percussion and rhythmic warmth. This mix plus a tea break = a great mood. Featured artists include Kevin Yost, Hanna Hais, Juan Hoerni, Antonio Ocasio, Marlon D, Demarkus Lewis, Fanatix, and Deep Josh.
This started off deep and dirty, and it’s evolving into New York House. I’ll blend in some great house hits to craft an excellent mix for those late-night, “situations.” There’s a touch of darkness lurking inside, too. Check the track listings for info and you’ll spot some of the best producers around: Subjekt, Joeski, Marlon D, Da Sunlounge, Chus & Penn, Rhythm Slaves, Fudge, Bryan Jones, Steal Vybe, Graceland, Halo, Mr V, and Mark Farina.
I was free to play whatever I wanted at our Lounge Cafe, and that night we savored soulful, Latin, and jazzy house. DJs often stock lots of tracks they rarely play, but Lounge Cafe felt like every moment was the right time to spin what I wanted. So I looped it again with favorites: Herb Martin, Breakpoint, Sabrina Malheiros, Maxine Inniss, Steal Vybe, Soul Central, The Coffee Kidz, The Sunburst Band, Knee Deep, Copyright, DJ Meme.
