House DJ Mixes Archive - 2002
I’ve collected a set of new, soulful house tracks and lined up everything I needed: a calm vibe, a drink, and the mindset to craft something special. I drew from other DJ mixes as well—because I’m all about promoting good music, even if it means sharing tracks that aren’t full maxi singles. This approach comes from my radio days, where shorter radio versions work best. Inside you’ll find some truly inspirational moments. I hope you listen, and if it resonates, you can download it. Those are the artists: Fred Everything, Ad Finem, Andy Caldwell, Stephanie Cooke, Mazi feat Colette, Fred Everything, Miguel Migs feat Leedia, Shaun Escoffery, Fred Everything, Brett Johnson, David Duriez, Zoo Experience, Groove Cartel, Jazzanova, DJ Rork feat Lady Bird, Jay-J & Chris Lum, Bell & Everything, David Duriez
Here’s a deeper funk-jazzy-soulful DJ mix—deep house with a touch of funk and plenty of soul. I’ve handpicked tracks for your special moments, whether you’re ready to dance or just drift on the vibe. It’s versatile enough for a party, a car ride, or a relaxed house listening session. I got some house music gems here: Hanna, Alicia Keys, Inland Knights, Eddie Matos, Dizzy & Halo, Audio Soul Project, Llorca & Lady Bird, Moogroove, Chris Lum, Jay-J, Tropical Deep Project, DJ Alex J, Mettle Music, Naomi, Johnny Fiasco.
This DJ mix blends deep house with smooth, soulful, jazzy vocal textures—ideal for hanging out, chilling with friends, and relaxing, perhaps even sparking a bit of deep thinking. Following several deep-tech sets I did this year for a club crowd, I’ve gone “Back on Mine” with jazzy, deep, mellow house rhythms and melodies from these artists: Blue Six, Kaskade, Andy Caldwell, Needs, Chris Lum & Jay-J, Jamie Anderson, Glissando Bros feat Clair Dietrich, DJ Rasoul, Jay-J And Chris Lum, Rhythm Plate, The Deal, Korben Dallas, Solar House, Les Maçons De La Musique
A few friends asked for a new DJ mix that leaned deeper and more techy—progressive, perhaps a touch darker than usual. I took that to heart, collecting compelling deep-tech tracks along with quality house, and stitched them together with my own track, "Attractive." The result is a bit of “weirdness” for many listeners, and something truly great for some of you—and for me as well. I think we’ve crafted a thoughtful deep-tech set, perhaps a touch heavy at times, but still rooted in true deepness. What can I do to make you press play? Give it a listen now. Miguel Migs & Marc Jellybear, Layo & Bushwacka!, Paulo Rocha, Souldoubt, West Magnetic, Les Maçons De La Musique, Danylo, 16B, Paul Davidson, Piliavin & Zimbardo, Tony Thomas, Jay-J & Julius Papp, Shuffle Inc., Black Powder, Dan Confusion, Derrick Carter & Chris Nazuka, Home & Garden Present Nkemdi, Tojami Sessions, Macari & Jay-J feat Shawn Benson.
I waited a long time for DJ software, and finally TRAKTOR was here. Native Instruments Traktor was in my hands, and I was more than ready to test it on this DJ mix. I crossed the analog–digital bridge and could finally use all my MP3s anytime, experiment with filtering, play with loops, and explore so much more. My first recorded mix with Traktor felt like a "point of no return." I’d never go back to turntables or CDs; to me, it’s all just a “music transport.” Music comes first, and I like it loud and clear. You’d be amazed at how much easier and faster it is to find and mix new tracks. I know this may be technically my weakest Traktor mix, but if you love deep & tech, uplifting house—check it out. I also included and mixed one of my tracks with my friend Buttke, “Don’t Tell Anyone (Closer Mix )". The Aquanauts, The To-ka Project, Chris Lum, Deep Groove Theory, Rick Preston, Kooki, Circulation, Danylo, Sven Väth, Back To Back, Jay-J, Gabriel & Doron, DJ Buck, Miguel Migs & Marc Jellybear,
