DJ Mixes

DeepLink
While working as a DJ in local clubs and venues, it’s only natural that I’ve gathered many great deep, soulful, jazzy house tracks. I began exploring good dance music in my teenage years in the late ’90s, and I’m still going strong. Over the years, I’ve been asked to mix some of the best house tracks for my friends and fans, so I decided it would be cool to share them online with the broadest possible audience. I’ve got plenty of DeepLink DJ Mixes on this website, feel free to listen, and if you really like them, download and share them with other house music lovers. Enjoy.
Deep Retro Grooves
Here is a collection of music I’ve cherished for a long time. Even now, I can still listen to it as if it were new. It features some of the oldest and finest house and deep house productions that feel timeless to me. Call it classics, retro, roots, yet it’s so much more than that. This music represents some of the best years of my life; it was my mainstream house for a long time, and it still is. For many listeners, though, it may feel underground.
Mix The Groove
This section of the site is dedicated to my online radio show, the DJ residency I hosted in 2007–2008 on UK internet radio MixTheGroove. Although the station eventually shut down, I preserved the shows as downloadable MP3s. Each episode is a pure DJ mix, it was music only with no talk. Every week, I carefully selected and blended some of the best and more niche deep, soulful, jazzy, and tech-house tracks. I hope you enjoy them.
Live DJ sets
On this page you’ll find my DJ sets, recorded live at some of my favorite clubs and venues. I was a resident DJ for many years, spinning four nights a week at the legendary Club Contrast, and I also held a resident night at Paradiso discotheque in Novi Sad. Lounge Café was the last venue where I performed weekly before moving to New York City. Each set offers a distinct vibe, and I encourage you to listen and download. The music is 99% house, with strong influences from Jazz, Nu-Jazz, Soul, Funk, and Afro-Latin rhythms and other elements.
Radio Shows
I’ve spent more than ten years as a DJ on numerous local radio stations in my city, and I’ve always enjoyed mixing new electronic music and curating engaging radio programs. Radio is wonderful because you know someone’s listening, even if you don’t know who they are or how many are tuned in. However, I didn’t record many of my DJ sets, though I did capture a few of my latest sessions from my favorite radio station ever, IN RADIO Novi Sad (1998–2009, R.I.P.). My main goal was to promote new and classic deep, soulful, funky, jazzy, Latin, and tech-house music while having fun in the process. These radio shows were recorded exclusively without my talk, just good old house music. Thanks for listening.
Long DJ Mixes
Years ago, while browsing my precious music collection, I began to imagine mixing my favorite tracks into an epic, long DJ set. I wanted a flow that could traverse different styles and folders from my computer (1973–2003), not for technical perfection, but to create something immersive I could listen to while pursuing other creative pursuits. It took me a lot of time to prepare and blend these long mixes, but the payoff was worth it. I cared less about technical details and more about music selection. After months of preparation, I finally launched this huge project, and now we have four ultra-long DJ mixes that showcase some of the best talents in electronic and contemporary music.
Guest Mixes
As you can tell, I’ve spent a lot of time mixing and recording my DJ sets. I didn’t have much time to record and mix for other internet sites or organize things, so I ended up with only two recorded DJ mixes to share. I know that isn’t a lot, but I’m excited to put them out there anyway. I hope you’ll enjoy these two deep, jazzy, soulful mixes I produced for the DeepGroove Show & DeepGroove Show.
I call this an ONLY HITS mix for my radio show, and it delivers just that. It opens with organic, spiritual guidance melodies, then shifts into latin-inspired flavors with a funky, near-disco rhythm, always with depth and a solid, driving bass. You’ll want a cozy atmosphere to fully enjoy it. While producing and performing the show, I’d dim the lights and get in the zone. Featured artists include Natasha McBeam, Osunlade, Sabrina Malheiros, Blaze, Paulo Rocha, Amnaye, Deep Josh, Oliver Desmet, Shik Stylko, Acapulco, Davidson Ospina, and Aroma Allstars.
My internet DJ presence opened some perks: I started getting promos from producers and DJs around the world. That meant I could spin truly fresh tunes and test new tracks on our local dance floors. I played new stuff all the time, and the crowd danced. Deep, jazzy, funky, techy, check out some names: Paolo Rocha, MOD, Blaze, Demarkus Lewis, Moloko, Franck Roger, Jazz Sensation, Mateo & Matos, Sunburst Band, Seminal Grooves, Carolyn Harding...
As I was planning a move from Europe to the USA, specifically New York City, I’ve decided to add a couple more soulful, deep-house mixes to my collection. “Sophisticated Grooves” represents my music taste for 2005, a blend of jazzy deep house with a few commercial hits. It’s a great introductory mix for listeners who aren’t yet into house music. This mix draws inspiration from funky Latin, soulful disco, and classic house vibes. I ended this one including some new and some old well known artists such as: Natasha Mcbeam, Halo & Atwater feat Mr. V, Tanja Dankner, Deep House Souldiers, Paulo Rocha, Les Gutaless, Kimara Lovelace, Christian Alvarez feat Dre, Demarkus Lewis, Julius Papp & D'Layna, Blaze Feat Barbara Tucker, Chuck Love, Carousel feat Krysten Cummings, Belezamusica
Crowd got hooked on our radio clubbing and house music scene. People loved our shows, and we had a real influence in our city. We played and organized many great parties. It mattered to me to keep things fresh with new music for our listeners. This mix embodies that spirit, featuring artists like Colette, Arnold Jarvis, Herbie Hancock, Magic Johnson, Pepe Link, Chuck Love, Sound Navigators, Jazz Sensation, Mateo & Matos, D’Stephanie, and Rasmus Faber.
This time I brought mostly new music to the show, and since everyone wanted to know the name of that great track, I got plenty of calls for info. After that, I started posting track listings on my website. Some standout names you’ll find there: Weekender, The Rhythm Slaves, Fresh & Low, Demarkus Lewis, Advantage Player, Kraak & Smaak, Brand Holland, Johnny Fiasco and my good friend DJ Z with Untitled Deep.
